Yoplan is a P2P (people to people) marketplace that allows travelers from all over the world to connect with people residing in countries of the Caribbean area, which offer activities away from mass tourism and that can be booked in a safe environment. Users can see recommendations from other travelers, with a filter of activities by quality and without this entailing a higher cost. Yamilet Rivas, Alberto Moya and Raúl Diego Regidor founded the startup in 2017, based on their proposal to generate unique experiences through two principles: local citizens and collaborative economy. The first promoters were captured directly through contacts in the Caribbean, with the aim of creating a quality experience, as well as generating adequate trust. Although there is a system of reviews by customers, the competencies of the promoters of the activities will be verified, losing scalability, but ensuring quality and confidence in the service. At the moment, the marketplace focuses its activity on the Spanish market and with a Caribbean destination, where this business model had not arrived. It has also received 90,000 euros of financing in its first round of investment and have signed an agreement with Europe Asistance for which the company has designed, together with Ribé Salat, an exclusive insurance plan for YoPlan. These range from the Basic Plan, which offers medical attention in case of accident or illness during the activity; to the Plus Plan, which offers search and rescue services, or even repatriation, for the most extreme experiences. Both, of course, with ambulance service.
