Wheel the World

Wheel the World is a benefit corporation with the purpose to empower people with disabilities to explore the world without limits. We create fantastic and unique travel experiences for people of all abilities at renowned global touristic destinations of the world. We live in a world that has not been designed for people with disabilities. The majority of people with disabilities have had fewer opportunities to live life to their fullest and experience what the world has to offer. In the last 10 years, we started seeing an increase in accessibility promotion and improvement worldwide as societies and governments are demanding products, services, transportation, etc to be more inclusive. Wheel the World is tackling the challenge of disability accessibility in tourism and want to redefine the recreation sector for people with disabilities. In 2016, we completed our first project in Patagonia, Chile. During this adventure, our team created and delivered an exclusive, never-done-before experience: the very first trekking and kayaking program for the wheelchair-bound people. Our documentary about the trip went viral on social media and was shown on Chilean and US, inspiring hundreds of requests from people with disabilities who wished to repeat that incredible experience. After that, we were motivated to grow this platform, because we know that exploring the outdoors together creates a unique atmosphere of unity among people with disabilities, their companions, and nature.
